Jewish Holiday: Shemini Atzeret/Simchat Torah

YHWH||ANYAMARY||JESUSISRAEL say in agreement together,

Introduction

Shemini Atzeret represents the 8th day of Sukkot which begins just before sundown on September 27, 2021. Simchat Torah begins just before sundown on September 28, 2021. This two day Sabbath ends at nightfall on September 29, 2021.

On Shemini Atzeret, we remain in booths but do not bring forth the offering of the four kinds before the LORD Jehovah God of Israel in the Lord Jesus Christ. On Simchat Torah, we finish the Book of Deuteronomy and restart the reading of the Torah at the beginning of the Book of Genesis.

Background

On this very special day, we celebrate the bringing down of the second set of Tablets by Moses on Yom Kippur, inscribed by the LORD Jehovah God of Israel on Mount Sinai following the Israelites’ disobedient worship of the golden calf.

Traditional celebratory activities are focused in on the glorious guidance from our God through the Commandments and Testimonies of the Torah by hugging and kissing the Torah scroll, topped off with festive dancing.

The Jewish Year 5782 in America is overshadowed by the captivity of the righteous Jewish #diaspora in the Lord Jesus Christ and Messiah in the LORD Jehovah God of Israel. Therefore, as the Psalmist David wrote, we also hang our harps (symbolic for musical celebratory joy). And exchange them for mourning, lamentation, and woe; impending the Judgement of the LORD Jehovah God of Israel that is sure to come!

The second set of tablets is extra special because it expresses the unbending and unyielding character of the LORD Jehovah God of Israel in the Lord Jesus Christ to execute righteousness and justice in the land sworn under oath to obey His Commandments.

No matter what our background is, those who love the Lord Jesus Christ are a part of the Jewish people in the LORD Jehovah God of Israel. And God has promised for His Namesake to collectively carry the Jewish People back home to their own land in Israel. Amongst our captivity, God has not left us. And instead, He is doing a very important work to bring glory to the Name of Our Begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ and Messiah.

YHWH||ANYAMARY||JESUSISRAEL share scripture, Exodus 32:1-4:

1 WHEN THE people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, [they] gathered together to Aaron, and said to him, Up, make us gods to go before us; as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.

2 So Aaron replied, Take the gold rings from the ears of your wives, your sons, and daughters, and bring them to me.

3 So all the people took the gold rings from their ears and brought them to Aaron.

4 And he received the gold at their hand and fashioned it with a graving tool and made it a molten calf; and they said, These are your gods, O Israel, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt!

YHWH||ANYAMARY||JESUSISRAEL share scripture, Psalm 137:1-2 [*Modified for emphasis]:

1 BY THE rivers of Babylon, there we [captives] sat down, yes, we wept when we [earnestly] remembered Zion [*the city of our God, the LORD Jehovah God of Israel in the Lord Jesus Christ imprinted on our hearts].

2 On the willow trees in the midst of [Babylon] we hung our harps.

YHWH||ANYAMARY||JESUSISRAEL share a definition, #diaspora:

Collective Jewish population outside of mainland Israel.
