Yom Kippur<\/a> is the holiest day of the year on the Jewish Calendar. It is also known as the Day of Atonement; when sins are forgiven through the sacrificial services of the High Priest in the Temple of Jerusalem before its destruction in 70 AD. Yom Kippur begins just before sundown on October 4, 2022 and continues until after nightfall on October 5, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Yom Kippur is a day traditionally dedicated to the LORD Jehovah God of Israel in the Lord Jesus Christ through fasting<\/strong><\/a>, prayer<\/strong><\/a>, and scripture #meditation<\/strong><\/a> (especially on the Book of Psalms<\/a>). All while, afflicting the body through the removal of various comforts to outwardly express remorse for sin and a desire to be reconciled to the LORD Jehovah God of Israel in the Lord Jesus Christ. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Yom Kippur was institutionalized based on the day Moses came down from conversing with the God in Our Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ, on Mount Sinai for two 40 day periods: the tenth of the month of Tishrei, on the Jewish calendar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In between those two 40 day periods, the children of Israel sinned by worshipping a golden calf<\/strong><\/a>. At the end of the second 40 day period, Moses satisfactorily obtained forgiveness for the children of Israel from the God in Our Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Our Lord and Messiah, Jesus Christ was crucified and resurrected as Our #perpetual<\/a><\/strong> High Priest prior to the destruction of the Second Temple in Jerusalem in 70 AD. Through the sacrifice the Lord Jesus Christ made for the world on the Cross nearly 2,000 years ago, we have a new covenant<\/a><\/strong> with the LORD Jehovah God of Israel that provides continual forgiveness of sins. Provided that we abide in Christ as the Word of the LORD Jehovah God of Israel made flesh<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n After the destruction of the Second Jewish Temple, Yom Kippur became a tradition every Jew performed in the temple of their heart. And scripture declares our bodies are temples<\/strong><\/a> of the seven-fold<\/strong><\/a> Holy Spirit of the Living God in Our Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 1\u00a0WHEN THE people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, [they] gathered together to Aaron, and said to him, Up, make us gods to go before us; as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 2\u00a0So Aaron replied, Take the gold rings from the ears of your wives, your sons, and daughters, and bring them to me.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 3\u00a0So all the people took the gold rings from their ears and brought them to Aaron.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 4\u00a0And he received the gold at their hand and fashioned it with a graving tool and made it a molten calf; and they said, These are your gods, O Israel, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt!<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 1\u00a0NOW EVEN the first covenant had its own rules\u00a0and<\/em> regulations for divine worship, and it had a sanctuary [but one] of this world. [Exod. 25:10-40.]<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 2\u00a0For a tabernacle (tent) was erected, in the outer division\u00a0or<\/em> compartment of which were the lampstand and the table with [its loaves of] the showbread set forth. [This portion] is called the Holy Place. [Lev. 24:5, 6.]<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 3\u00a0But [inside] beyond the second curtain\u00a0or<\/em> veil, [there stood another] tabernacle [division] known as the Holy of Holies. [Exod. 26:31-33.]<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 4\u00a0It had the golden altar of incense and the ark (chest) of the covenant, covered over with wrought gold. This [ark] contained a golden jar which held the manna and the rod of Aaron that sprouted and the [two stone] slabs of the covenant [bearing the Ten Commandments]. [Exod. 16:32-34; 30:1-6; Num. 17:8-10.]<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 5\u00a0Above [the ark] and overshadowing the mercy seat were the representations of the cherubim [winged creatures which were the symbols] of glory. We cannot now go into detail about these things.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 6\u00a0These arrangements having thus been made, the priests enter [habitually] into the outer division of the tabernacle in performance of their ritual acts of worship.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 7\u00a0But into the second [division of the tabernacle] none but the high priest goes, and he only once a year, and never without taking a sacrifice of blood with him, which he offers for himself and for the errors\u00a0and<\/em> sins of ignorance\u00a0and<\/em> thoughtlessness which the people have committed. [Lev. 16:15.]<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 8\u00a0By this the Holy Spirit points out that the way into the [true Holy of] Holies is not yet thrown open as long as the former [the outer portion of the] tabernacle remains a recognized institution\u00a0and<\/em> is still standing,<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 9\u00a0Seeing that that first [outer portion of the] tabernacle was a parable (a visible symbol or type or picture of the present age). In it gifts and sacrifices are offered, and yet are incapable of perfecting the conscience\u00a0or<\/em> of cleansing\u00a0and<\/em> renewing the inner man of the worshiper.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 10\u00a0For [the ceremonies] deal only with clean and unclean meats and drinks and different washings, [mere] external rules\u00a0and<\/em> regulations for the body imposed to tide the worshipers over until the time of setting things straight [of reformation, of the complete new order when Christ, the Messiah, shall establish the reality of what these things foreshadow\u2013a better covenant].<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 11\u00a0But [that appointed time came] when Christ (the Messiah) appeared as a High Priest of the better things that have come\u00a0and<\/em> are to come. [Then] through the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with [human] hands, that is, not a part of this material creation,<\/strong><\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 12\u00a0He went once for all into the [Holy of] Holies [of heaven], not by virtue of the blood of goats and calves [by which to make reconciliation between God and man], but His own blood, having found\u00a0and<\/em> secured a complete redemption (an everlasting release for us).<\/strong><\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 13\u00a0For if [the mere] sprinkling of unholy\u00a0and<\/em> defiled persons with blood of goats and bulls and with the ashes of a burnt heifer is sufficient for the purification of the body, [Lev. 16:6, 16; Num. 19:9, 17, 18.]<\/strong><\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 14\u00a0How much more surely shall the blood of Christ, Who by virtue of [His] eternal Spirit [His own preexistent divine personality] has offered Himself as an unblemished sacrifice to God, purify our consciences from dead works\u00a0and<\/em> lifeless observances to serve the [ever] living God?<\/strong><\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 15\u00a0[Christ, the Messiah] is therefore the Negotiator\u00a0and<\/em> Mediator of an [entirely] new agreement (testament, covenant), so that those who are called\u00a0and<\/em> offered it may receive the fulfillment of the promised everlasting inheritance\u2013since a death has taken place which rescues\u00a0and<\/em> delivers\u00a0and<\/em> redeems them from the transgressions committed under the [old] first agreement.<\/strong><\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 16\u00a0For where there is a [last] will\u00a0and<\/em> testament involved, the death of the one who made it must be established,<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 17\u00a0For a will\u00a0and<\/em> testament is valid and takes effect only at death, since it has no force\u00a0or<\/em> legal power as long as the one who made it is alive.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 18\u00a0So even the [old] first covenant (God’s will) was not inaugurated\u00a0and<\/em> ratified\u00a0and<\/em> put in force without the shedding of blood.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 19\u00a0For when every command of the Law had been read out by Moses to all the people, he took the blood of slain calves and goats, together with water and scarlet wool and with a bunch of hyssop, and sprinkled both the Book (the roll of the Law and covenant) itself and all the people,<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 20\u00a0Saying these words: This is the blood that seals\u00a0and<\/em> ratifies the agreement (the testament, the covenant) which God commanded [me to deliver to] you. [Exod. 24:6-8.]<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 21\u00a0And in the same way he sprinkled with the blood both the tabernacle and all the [sacred] vessels\u00a0and<\/em> appliances used in [divine] worship.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 22\u00a0[In fact] under the Law almost everything is purified by means of blood, and without the shedding of blood there is neither release from sin\u00a0and<\/em> its guilt\u00a0nor<\/em> the remission of the due\u00a0and<\/em> merited punishment for sins.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 23\u00a0By such means, therefore, it was necessary for the [earthly] copies of the heavenly things to be purified, but the actual heavenly things themselves [required far] better\u00a0and<\/em> nobler sacrifices than these.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 24\u00a0For Christ (the Messiah) has not entered into a sanctuary made with [human] hands, only a copy\u00a0and<\/em> pattern\u00a0and<\/em> type of the true one, but [He has entered] into heaven itself, now to appear in the [very] presence of God on our behalf.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 25\u00a0Nor did He [enter into the heavenly sanctuary to] offer Himself regularly again and again, as the high priest enters the [Holy of] Holies every year with blood not his own.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 26\u00a0For then would He often have had to suffer [over and over again] since the foundation of the world. But as it now is, He has once for all at the consummation\u00a0and<\/em> close of the ages appeared to put away\u00a0and<\/em> abolish sin by His sacrifice [of Himself].<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 27\u00a0And just as it is appointed for [*all flesh] once to die, and after that the [certain] judgment,<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 28\u00a0Even so it is that Christ, having been offered to take upon Himself\u00a0and<\/em> bear as a burden the sins of many once\u00a0and<\/em> once for all, will appear a second time, not to carry any burden of sin\u00a0nor<\/em> to deal with sin, but to bring to full salvation those who are [eagerly, constantly, and patiently] waiting for\u00a0and<\/em> expecting Him.<\/strong><\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 1\u00a0IN THE beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with [*the LORD Jehovah God of Israel]<\/mark>, and the Word was [*the LORD Jehovah God of Israel]<\/mark> Himself. [Isa. 9:6.]<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 2\u00a0He was present originally with [*the LORD Jehovah God of Israel].<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 3\u00a0All things were made\u00a0and<\/em> came into existence through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 4\u00a0In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 5\u00a0And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 1\u00a0AND THERE shall come forth a Shoot out of the stock of Jesse [David’s father], and a Branch out of his roots shall grow\u00a0and<\/em> bear fruit. [Isa. 4:2; Matt. 2:23; Rev. 5:5; 22:16.]<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 2\u00a0And the Spirit of the [*LORD Jehovah God of Israel] shall rest upon Him\u2013the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the reverential\u00a0and<\/em> obedient fear of the [*LORD Jehovah God of Israel]\u2013<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 3\u00a0And shall make Him of quick understanding,\u00a0and<\/em> His delight shall be in the reverential\u00a0and<\/em> obedient fear of the [*LORD Jehovah God of Israel]. And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, neither decide by the hearing of His ears;<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 4\u00a0But with righteousness\u00a0and<\/em> justice shall He judge the poor and decide with fairness for the meek, the poor,\u00a0and<\/em> the downtrodden of the earth; and He shall smite the earth\u00a0and<\/em> the oppressor with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 19\u00a0Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received [as a Gift] from [*the LORD Jehovah God of Israel in the Lord Jesus Christ]? You are not your own,<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 20\u00a0You were bought with a price [purchased with a preciousness and paid for, made His own]. So then, honor [*the LORD Jehovah God of Israel in the Lord Jesus Christ]<\/mark>\u00a0and<\/em> bring glory to Him in your body.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 1\u00a0TAKE CARE not to do your good deeds publicly\u00a0or<\/em> before men, in order to be seen by them; otherwise you will have no reward [reserved for and awaiting you] with\u00a0and<\/em> from your Father Who is in heaven.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 2\u00a0Thus, whenever you give to the poor, do not blow a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites in the synagogues and in the streets like to do, that they may be recognized\u00a0and<\/em> honored\u00a0and<\/em> praised by men. Truly I tell you, they have their reward in full already.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 3\u00a0But when you give to charity, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 4\u00a0So that your deeds of charity may be in secret; and your Father Who sees in secret will reward you\u00a0openly.<\/em><\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n 5\u00a0Also when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by people.
